09/05/18 Update: Sold.
This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera (VIN WP0AA29913S620170) has a claimed 37,996 miles and is finished in what appears to be “Black”. The seller states he has spent $9K in maintenance/upgrades in the past 12 months. IMS/RMS is taken care of as well. Find this one offered here on Rennlist in Atlanta, Georgia for $27,999.
We’re not going to be too thorough here because the Rennlist ad is VERY THOROUGH. 2003 was the 2nd year for the updated/facelifted 996. The narrowbody base Carrera had underbody fittings for improved aerodynamics, front and rear bumpers were restyled, but most importantly Porsche gave the Carrera the Turbo’s updated headlights with standard bi-Xenon lamps (no more Boxster look!).
The facelifted Carrera’s also got new engines. The original 3.4L M96/02 were all replaced by a single 3.6L M96/03 type producing 320 HP. These new engines also came with a new VariocamPlus system and a new DME that mimics the Turbos minus the boost control. Unfortunately, the M96/03 still suffers from the same IMS issues as the M96/02 but lucky for you this car has had all of the trouble spots taken care of, including the IMS/RMS.
The interior is finished in “Graphite Grey” standard leather. Lots of upgrades with this one folks. These things sell for 25K with no IMS work on BaT all the time. Add the IMS/RMS, the other aftermarket goodies and the new tires, and the ask isn’t too bad. Its been for sale for a while, with multiple price chops so seller may be willing to wheel and deal. Don’t forget that PPI! Make this 996 your #firstflatsix
