130 of 911! 2000 Porsche 996 Millennium Edition

Posted on July 5, 2018July 11, 2018 by flatsixadmin

7/11/2018 Update: Interesting, the dealer RAISED the price. They are now asking $25,995. Are we responsible for moving the market? Is this an indication that we made it? Brooklyn we did it…?

This 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (VIN WP0AA2993YS620534) has a claimed 49,234 miles and is finished in “Violet Chromaflair Metallic”. The seller states, “Super clean, no accidents or paint work, service up to date, updated IMS bearing”. Find this one offered here at Fountain Hill Motorsports in Fountain Hill, Arizona for $24,995.

A missed opportunity by the folks at Fountain Hill Motorsports to price this at $24,996. What were they thinking using 995?

For the turn of the century Porsche opted to produce a “Limited Edition” model of the 996. The “Millennium Edition” was created based on the standard model year 2000 Carrera 4. Their run was limited to (wait for it)…911 cars.

The Carrera 4 script was removed from the engine lid and replaced with the 911 logo much like the 964 Anniversary model.

Beyond the special paint, the Millennium Editions also got Polished 18″ Turbo Look wheels, Litronic headlamps with washers, oversized exhaust tips and wait for it…a rear wiper (!) to round out the exterior.

This 2000 Carrera 4 came with a 300HP 3.4L flat-six and AWD with Porsche Stability Management. The AWD system is permanent and set at minimum 95% to the rear and 5% to the fronts. With rear wheels spinning, the fronts could get up to 40% of the power. This 3.4L is also fitted with “e-gas” throttle which was standard in all Carreras save for the ’99 Coupes.

The interior is finished in Millennium “Natural Brown” Full Leather (door cards and dash) with dark burr maple wood trim. Power and heated seats are standard here with the interior is showing minimal wear.

The 3-Spoke leather steering wheel, Porsche Communication Management System (PCM) aluminum dials and a remote CD changer round out the interior. Unfortunately, still no cupholders or glovebox here folks.

Base C4, 300 HP, 6speed, AWD and ONLY 49K miles. The price is right here folks, a similar ME with 6K more miles sold on BringaTrailerfor $26,250 with buyers premium. Make sure you get the receipt for the “updated IMS work” and a PPI. Enjoy a 996 that I guarantee you wont be seen often out in the wild. The perfect firstflatsix.
