This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera (VIN WP0AA2995XS624048) has a claimed 64,301 miles and is finished in what appears to be “Ocean Blue Metallic” over “Savannah Beige” leather. No information regarding any IMS/RMS work. Find this one offered here on CarGurus in Lynwood, Washington for $18,995.
The seller provided info is light on this one (dealer), so I’ll do the best I can. The Carfax is provided, and shows 4 previous owners, with the first 7 years in Utah and Nevada before spending its time in Washington since. The carfax isn’t showing a ton of service history.
The 996.1 came stock with a 3.4 liter flat-six pumping out 296 hp and a cable connected throttle as opposed to the electronic throttle “e-gas” that came standard in 2000+ models. Many drivers prefer the feel of the cable connected pedal to throttle for a more raw visceral feel. As an added bonus, this car appears to be equipped with the very desirable (and RARE) factory LSD!
The interior is finished in “Savannah Beige” leather and as a bonus, it’s optioned with the full leather (door cards and dash) as well as the optional supple leather. The car is also sporting the optional 3 spoke steering wheel. From the other interior pics, the car appears to also be optioned with power seats, heated seats and the original Navigation (good luck with that).
Exterior paint looks tidy. Its an early ’99, but not so early that it has the fried egg headlight lenses and amber rear lenses. The car is sporting 17″ Boxster twists which were the lightest stock wheel available on the 996 (added bonus cheaper tires). We also spy the “Carrera” badge delete and wait for it…a rear wiper!
This 996 Carrera looks like a solid choice to get into Porsche 911 ownership. Base Carrera, 296 HP, 6speed, RWD 62K miles AND factory LSD. Be sure to request the build/option codes from the seller, and don’t forget that PPI. Once you buy, get that IMS work done and enjoy those miles of smiles, haters be damned. The perfect firstflatsix.
