This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera (VIN WP0AA29983S620456) has a claimed 45,000 miles and is finished in always beautiful “Guards Red”. The seller states, “garage stored No accidents”. No indication on any IMS/RMS work. Find this one offered here on Craigslist in Nutley, New Jersey for $27,500.
Original Craigslist ad here in case it gets scooped up as you read.
We don’t get it, you’re selling a ~$30K used car that once cost $80K and your pictures look as if you’re selling an old gas grill.
2003 was the 2nd year for the updated/facelifted 996. The narrowbody base Carrera had underbody fittings for improved aerodynamics, front and rear bumpers were restyled, but most importantly Porsche gave the Carrera the Turbo’s updated headlights with standard bi-Xenon lamps (no more Boxster look!).
The wheels on this car are 18″ Carrera II’s. No info from the seller on tire condition.
The face-lifted Carrera’s also got new engines. The original 3.4L M96/02 were all replaced by a single 3.6L M96/03 type producing 320HP. These new engines also came with a new VariocamPlus system and a new DME that mimics the Turbos minus the boost control. Unfortunately, the M96/03 still suffers from the same IMS issues as the M96/02. Unfortunately, the seller makes no mention of any IMS work, so proceed with caution. On the bright side, the car is equipped with the factory sport exhaust.
The interior is finished in “Black” heated leather and the very rare Sport Seat option (extra upper bolstering). Additionally this car is equipped with high end Bose, red seat belts and aluminum trim.
So we’ll admit, this may be priced a TAD on the high side, especially without any IMS work. But it is a 996.2, it is Guards Red, it does have 45K miles and it is equipped with sport seats and sport exhaust. Don’t forget that PPI! Make this 996 your #firstflatsix
