10/01/2018 UPDATE: Gone
This 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (VIN WP0AA29971S621661) has a claimed 73,615 miles on the clock and is finished in “Guards Red”. No indication of any IMS/RMS work. Find this one offered here on CarGurus in San Luis Obispo, California for $22,995.
Well, well, well, what do we have here? A Guards Red 996 w/ Factory Aero? As we have mentioned many times here, there is a lot to like with these narrowbody base Carrera’s.
Guards Red is THE Porsche 911 color, add Factory Aero and well yeah, this is kinda special. Clean CarFax, 4 owners and by the looks of that build sheet, this was definitely enthusiast owned. Came from the factory with 18″ Turbo Look wheels but were swapped as they are now wearing what appear to be TechArt Formula GTS wheels.
This 2000 Carrera 4 came with a 300HP 3.4L flat-six and AWD with Porsche Stability Management. The AWD system is permanent and set at minimum 95% to the rear and 5% to the fronts. With rear wheels spinning, the fronts could get up to 40% of the power. This 3.4L is also fitted with “e-gas” throttle which was standard in all Carreras save for the ’99 Coupes.
Black Full Leather, Sport Seats, red stitching, embossed headrests, three spoke wheel and litronic headlights round out the interior. A-lot of those options were NOT checked during the ordering process for a lot of these cars.
300Hp, 6sp, E-Gas throttle, lots of options and a clean CarFax. Don’t forget that PPI. Make this classic Carrera your firstflatsix.
