So I had planned on featuring a BEAUTIFUL 40K mile Guards Red Carrera 4S yesterday for the LOW LOW price of $25K at Hendricks Honda in Pompano Florida, but it disappeared this afternoon. That was the steal of the year I’m afraid. Too bad, so sad. Onward we go. Seller is light on the details here, but it’s CL, so we expect it.
2003 was the 2nd year for the updated/facelifted 996. The narrowbody base Carrera had underbody fittings for improved aerodynamics, front and rear bumpers were restyled, but most importantly Porsche gave the Carrera the Turbo’s updated headlights with standard bi-Xenon lamps (no more Boxster look!). The highlight of this car is the GT3 Aero kit though. No VIN from the buyer to verify it’s Factory, but boy does it look good. Make sure you get a good look to ensure its a quality replica. If it’s a genuine Porsche kit even better!
The wheels on this car are 18″ Carrera III’s (from the 997) and they look great. Seller indicates the car is sitting on HR Springs with Michelin tires (No word on any tire condition). The stance looks fantastic.
This Carrera sports a 3.6L M96/03 type producing 320HP. These engines came with a new VariocamPlus system and a new DME that mimics the Turbos minus the boost control. Unfortunately, the M96/03 still suffers from the same IMS issues as the M96/02. The seller claims all IMS/RMS and AOS work has been addressed, make sure you ask for proof.
The interior is finished in what appears to be standard “Graphite Grey” partial leather. Not a lot of pics and no VIN, so I can’t confirm anything else.
Lapis Blue, facelifted, lower mileage 996 with GT3 Aero and all claimed work for all the typical problem spots? Aero cars, always sell at a premium, and the ask isn’t bad for a facelifted aero with IMS/RMS addressed. Ask for the carfax/autocheck and don’t forget that PPI! Make this 996 your #firstflatsix
Jibbers Crabs that is pretty!
Is it just the tail from the aero kit? Not the spoiler or side skirts? Love the color!
It appears the front is the aero front, it def doesn’t have the skirts. Looks dope either way!
