5/30/18 Update: And she’s gone.
This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera (VIN WP0AA299XXS624501) has a claimed 45,496 miles on the clock and is said to be a “very clean example”. Finished in what appears to be Arctic Silver, the seller says, “…new IMS bearing, RMS, clutch kit, plugs…”. With tons of service records in the Carfax, this looks ready to go. Find this one offered here on Autotrader in Longwood, Florida $22,900.
996 Narrowbody goodness here folks. The 996.1 came stock with a 3.4 liter flat-six pumping out 296 hp and a cable connected throttle as opposed to the electronic throttle “e-gas” that came standard in 2000+ models. Many drivers prefer the feel of the cable connected pedal to throttle for a more raw visceral feel. From the sellers listing pictures this car DOES NOT appear to be equipped with the factory Limited Slip Differential (LSD). To keep with the pure Analog Porsche experience, theres the light 17″ twists that were shared with the Boxster.
Fun fact; early 996’s shared the same assembly line as the legendary 993. You can tell this is an early car because of the graphite console trim. Two options we can clearly see in this car are the full leather front seats in “Graphite Gray” and the optional 3 spoke steering wheel. No full leather (dash and door cards on this model).
The Carfax is provided, and shows 5 previous owners, spending its whole life in Florida. There is a lot of documented work in the Carfax, I recommend you review it thoroughly. In addition, the selling dealer has stated that they’ve replaced the IMS bearing, RMS, clutch kit, plugs, new coils, filters, oil service, new shocks with bump stops and a new window regulator.
As I mentioned earlier, pure 996 goodness right here folks. Be sure to ask for a picture of the option codes, run a fresh Autocheck and don’t forget that PPI. This will be someones firstflatsix.
Love it!
so do we!
