This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (VIN NOT IDENTIFIED) has a claimed 40,700 miles and is finished in what appears to be Arctic Silver Metallic. The seller states, “Always Garaged, Services Up to Date, Amazing Condition!” Find this one offered here on Craigslist in Scottsdale, Arizona for $29,900.

The Carrera 4S or C4S for short, was first introduced in 1994 in the US market. Porsche took a bunch of unsold 964 3.6L Turbo chassis assemblies and created the 964 Carrera Turbo-look. They then did the same thing with the 993 to create the Carrera 4S Coupe. Rinse and repeat, and here we are with the 996 version.
For the 996 version, Porsche added a full width rear reflector and removed the side air intakes. Essentially, the C4S is a Turbo without the Turbocharged “Mezger” engine and side air intakes. This particular car is sporting an H&R Coilover kit with 19″ Victor wheels (seller does have the stock 18″ Turbo Twists).
No engine shots in the original listing, but the C4S’s came with the same naturally aspirated 3.6L flat-six that was good for 320HP that was found in every other base Carrera. Now, the seller indicates this has an “upgraded S” engine. A VIN wasn’t indicated but maybe he has the X51 power kit, or maybe he thinks the S means more power, when it really doesn’t. Anyway, if it does have the X51 (good for 345 HP) than that would make this car pretty rare (bonus).
The interior is finished in what appears to be “Natural Gray” full leather treatment.
The seller also appears to have a stack of receipts and invoices for past work (always good!).
Champagne taste, beer budget. Get Turbo looks, without Turbo dollars. At the current ask, this is a great value. Someone just paid $26,500 for a 76K-Mile, dirty carfax’ed C4s with TIPTRONIC and NO IMS WORK on Bringatrailer today. For not much more money, you’re getting the same car with half the mileage and $3K worth of IMS/RMS work done already. Oh, and its a 6-speed!!! Ask for a Carfax/Autocheck and don’t forget that PPI! Make this C4S your #firstflatsix!
